News from Thailand

For the fourth of July we had orientation in the morning and in the evening we attended a International dinner party. We played some games and experienced some Thai culture along with a great singing of our National Anthem.

Our first day in the school went really well. It was cool to be able to share the gospel so freely and not be restrained by the typical seperation of church and state. They were so open and respectful to what we had to say.

The second day we went to two different schools and the morning school was amazingly orderly. The kids really seemed to grasp what we were saying. The afternoon school was quite the experience. Most of the kids stared blankly as we tried to get them to do the motions to 'I'm Gonna Walk.' Aimee had to help Tracie with cheerleading because Sarah felt sick and stayed back to rest. Even though the kids may have appeared to not be listening, we have some tracts and the gospel of John in Thai that we had out after the sessions. When we got back we learned that Sarah had to spend the night in the hospital. The pastor's wife stayed with her.

Today we went to a village about an hour away, way out in the boonies. It was really fun. We did a camp session and although they were very noisy, once the evangacube was being presented, they quieted down and really seemed to be paying attention which was cool. We handed out Salvation braclets and praise the Lord we had exactly enough.

After 'camp' some older guys were playing soccer and after being the 'line judges' for the first half, Tripp and Mike got to play in the second half. Mike started out shaky and fell on his butt right off the bat. Tripp made the only goal for his team off a header shortly into the second half. It was quite the game to watch. Tracie and Aimee played volleyball with some local boys, which captured the attention of everyone who wasn't UW.

Sarah was released from the hospital with a stomach virus and she has some meds that will pull her through. Tonight the church served us our first hardcore American meal, which we were all extremely thankful for. Spaghetti, salad, and Italian bread. SO GOOD! A nice change of pace from rice, rice, and more rice for EVERY meal.

Tomorrow after church we get a chance to avenge J-Rob's loss in basketball last year.

That is all for now.

With sweat dripping down our backs,
Tripp, Mike, Aimee, Tracie, and Sarah

Thailand Team made it!!

After 24 hours of air travel we added 10 more hours in a truck, some of the team in the back all the way- way to go Tripp, Aimee and Mike~!!!

The team was doing well when Paul and I left on Thursday and have built good relationships with our friends in Thailand.

Clear presentations of the gospel every day to 100's of Buddists in English classes along with some sports ministry in the school facilities.

More soon.
